By managing miner share difficulty, we prevent server and bandwidth flooding from low-difficulty shares, ensuring a stable, low-latency connection for your hardware.

DIFFICULTY SETTING (in the password field)

For custom difficulty set Password to: d=[difficulty]

If your average 5-minute hashrate is in the GH range: Multiply your average hashrate in GH by 6.
- Example: 100 GH x 6 = 600 > d=600
- Example: 600 GH x 6 = 3600 > d=3600
If your average 5-minute hashrate is in the TH range: Multiply your average hashrate in TH by 6000.
- Example: 1.2 TH x 6000 = 7200 > d=7200
- Example: 95 TH x 6000 = 570000 > d=570000
- Example: 120 TH x 6000 = 720000 > d=720000

You can fine-tune the difficulty to achieve approximately one share every 20-30 seconds, by using the Diff Suggestion in the Active Workers table above as a starting point.
Important: the Difficulty Suggestion tuning can take up to 10 minutes, and is more reliable after one hour of running your miner at a constant speed.

Special considerations for Bitaxe miners

Set Password to: d=xxxx where xxxx = hashrate in GH X 6 (see above)
Uncheck the "Decode Coinbase Tx" checkbox (advanced options)

Why talk about Shares when solo mining?
When solo mining, shares are completely worthless on their own—they do not earn you partial payouts like they do in a regular pool. You either solve a whole block and win everything, or you get nothing. Instead, solo pools use shares for two purely administrative reasons:

A "Sign of Life": It tells the pool server that your ASIC is actively running, connected, and hasn't crashed.
Calculating Hashrate: Because the pool cannot look inside your hardware, it counts how many low-difficulty shares you submit per minute to accurately calculate and display your live hashrate on the dashboard.

Do Not Mine to an Exchange Address
There is no guarantee that exchanges will successfully support the unlock of coinbase rewards. Always use a self-custodial wallet address.
